How long can I keep a school loan in forbearance?

I have a federal student loan which is currently in forbearance. I know I have to re apply every twelve months. Is there a limit as to the number of years a person can do this? Mine has been in forbearance for two years and it looks as if I will need a third year.Submited by:MARIE S

What is the difference between a federal loan from a univeristy and one from a bank?

But what is the difference from doing that through your school and actually going to a bank, IE Chase, and applying for a Federal Stafford Loan through the bank? Is it the same thing or is there a benefit from getting it through the school?

If the school doesn’t award you a loan can you apply for it through the bank or are you automactially ineligible?

I don’t want to have to start paying my loan until after i graduate. Should i try to get a loan through UT, a government loan, or a federal loan?
